I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Art Therapist, as well as a certified Breathe 4 Change Yoga Instructor and Wellness Champion. My intention is to be a guide to help you learn what thinking patterns and habits that don’t serve you so that you can replace them with positive thinking patterns and routines that support your best self. Whether it’s your career, your relationships, or your mental health that seems to be blocking you from seeing your best self clearly, I’ll help you develop the habits and skills to effectively deal with the challenges and emotional moments you may encounter in life. I utilize art therapy techniques, which focus on the visual/creative processing to heal from the emotional pain; counseling techniques, which focus on changing the blueprints of your thinking patterns to make new perspectives; and yoga/meditation techniques to allow your body to release the stored pain and stored emotions.
Let me introduce myself...
My name is Camille Baker. I achieved my masters in counseling: art therapy at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. I have been working as a counselor since 2014. I specialize in art therapy counseling which encourages individuals to process their emotions by painting, drawing, molding clay, collaging, etc. I completed my 200hr yoga instructor training in March 2020. I provide a unique approach of combining traditional counseling techniques of CBT, motivational interviewing, and reflective listening with art making and yoga to help individuals understand how they perceive and process their emotions and their environment. I meet the individual where they are at to design a personalized path of self discovery and achievement of their personal life goals. I focus on helping individuals identify barriers blocking them from effectively managing issues that are causing them distress, anxiety, and stress. We identify positive, affective interventions together that create control over these issues and decrease the negative impact on their daily lives. I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients, and look forward to helping you. I make an effort to make you feel welcome regardless of your race, sexuality, gender, religion, or culture. This service is uniquely focused at bridging the mind-body connection. Processing the residual trauma held in the body is often times one of the keys to a happier, healthier life. My job is to give you the tools and techniques to achieve a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. After several sessions, you will become well-versed at your body language and being able to flow through each unique sequence of postures that release any trauma in the body. By combining in meditation sessions you will learn to master your concentration skills and pivot negative thoughts into positive ones. You will learn to change how your emotions sit in your body and how to release the responses that do not serve you.
